Vu’s Spring Happy Hour

Spring has sprung and that means warmer weather, more daylight and abundant Happy Hours. Good thing Vu, the upscale casual oceanfront dining destination inside Jamaica Bay Inn hotel, is gearing up by mixing some refreshingly cool cocktails to get us in the spirit.

It might be best known for its beach-front positioning, but Vu’s creative cocktails are highly praised and sought after. Here are a few of the favorites:

  • Mother’s Beach Mai Tai – made with Bacardi Rum, Meyer’s Dark Rum, 151 Rum, Apricot Brandy, pineapple juice, orange juice, lemon  and lime


  • Spicy Hunter  – made with Cazadores Tequila, jalapeno and agave


  • Evergreen Mojito – made with Hendricks Gin, muddled cucumber, mint, lime and soda


  • Stiletto Martini – made with Grey Goose Vodka, Framboise and Canton Ginger

And for just $6 a piece during Happy Hour, you can try a few. Well drinks and draft beer run $4, while selected wines go for $5.


Looking for a nibble to go along with these novelty concoctions? A new Happy Hour menu features dishes like crispy lemon calamari with garlic anchovy aioli & grilled lemon, beef sliders with truffle mayo, crispy bacon and aged cheddar, a classic Caesar salad with roasted garlic croutons, shaved grana padano parmesan, white anchovy & fresh basil and spicy edamame to name a few. Food items range from about $3 for fries to $6 for sliders.
