With 5 hotels near the Venice Beach area, Pacifica Hotels knows this vibrant LA beach community well. And with summer officially starting this Sunday, we’ve come up with a short (but useful) guide to the best attractions in Venice Beach to visit this summer!
Don’t forget your shades and sunscreen too. All of these must-see attractions are outdoors, allowing LA visitor’s to truly enjoy California’s perfect climate.
The Ocean Front Boardwalk
It’s simply one of the best places in LA for people watching. From its street artists who walk on glass or roller skate with an electric guitar, Venice Beach is home to the most amazing street entertainers in the world. (Yes, we said world.) Also, don’t be surprised if you’re asked for a tip. These street artists are trying to make a living too!
Sunset Concerts at the Santa Monica Pier
This popular concert series starts again on July 9th, where guests can enjoy a diverse line-up of music, including reggae, rock, pop, and R&B. These summer concerts are scheduled weekly on Thursday nights and begin at 7 pm. Tip: get there early for the best views – it gets crowded fast!
A Body-Building Paradise
The Venice Beach board walk is also known for its hard-core bodybuilders. Home to amateur and professional bodybuilders, explore Muscle Beach and even Gold’s Gym, the place where Arnold Schwarzenegger was first discovered! Today, Muscle Beach is an open playground with a gated area that encloses weight lifting equipment, while the other area includes a sand box with gymnastic, rope climbing, and acrobatic bars.
The Famous Venice Canals
Shorter than a flight to Italy, stroll along our beautiful Venice canals that wind through a neighborhood of stunning homes that you only dream about living in. This area also features scenic bridges that are ideal for photos! Looking for a little history in LA? The Venice Canals are now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Abbot Kinney Boulevard is a famous shopping area between Main Street and North Venice Boulevard. Home to décor shops, vintage clothing, and many surf shops, Abbot Kinney is simply one of the most eclectic areas in Los Angeles. Plus, visitors can now enjoy Abbot Kinney First Fridays, where you can support the small businesses at one of LA’s most popular art walks.
Pacifica Hotels looks forward to welcoming you to Venice Beach this summer.
